Altaiwagon ( Russian Алтайвагон ) is a Russian freight car manufacturer . He owns three plants in Novoaltaisk , Rubtsovsk (foundry) and Kemerovo and has belonged to the SDS-Masch holding since 2006 . The annual production capacity is 9,000 pieces.
The company was founded on October 7, 1941, when the freight wagon plant was relocated from Dniprodzerzhynsk to Siberia because of the Great Patriotic War . In the 1970s and 1980s, the plant expanded boxcars all metal construction especially for China .
