Altarduken (Norwegian for altar cloth ) is a small glacier in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . It lies at the head of the Grautskåla basin in the Alexander von Humboldt Mountains .
It was discovered and mapped using aerial photographs during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . A new mapping was carried out by participants in the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). They named the mountain in connection with the mountain altar east of the glacier .
