Altdrumman
The Dolmen of Altdrumman (also "The Cloghogle"; Irish called Cloch Thógála ) is near Milltown-Loughmacrory, three kilometers northwest of Carrickmore in County Tyrone in Northern Ireland and is a Neolithic portal Tomb . Megalithic systems on the British Isles are called Portal Tombs , in which two equally high, upright stones with a door stone in between form the front of a chamber, which is usually covered with a sometimes huge capstone.
description
The west-east oriented dolmen stands on flat terrain, close to a rock outcrop that supplied the material for the megalithic complex. The chamber is 2.6 m long and 1.4 m wide. The capstone is about 2.65 m long and wide and 1.1 m thick. The two portal stones are 1.2 m high and end in points. The end stone, which is unusually shaped, positioned and dimensioned for systems of its type, is around 1.5 m high, 2.0 m wide and 1.0 m thick.
The Loughmacrory facilities are a few hundred meters south.
