Old pharmacy Oberursel

The Alte Apotheke Oberursel was opened in 1847 as the first pharmacy in Oberursel (Taunus) . The half-timbered building from the 19th century at Vorstadt 37 is a listed building .

According to the Nassau Medical Edict of 1818 , a pharmacy should be set up in every office . The Kronberg District Pharmacy was responsible for the Königstein office . With the growth of the population and the advancement of medicine, the need for drug supplies grew. In 1847, the Kronberg official pharmacist Wilhelm Neubronner received permission to open a branch pharmacy in Oberursel .

After the German War in 1866, the Duchy of Nassau was annexed by Prussia and the regulations for pharmacies were liberalized. Wilhelm's son Julius Neubronner (1852–1932) sold the pharmacy to Hermann Bernbeck in 1872 and the pharmacy was continued as an independent pharmacy.

The Bernbeck'sche pharmacy existed until 2006. After several years of vacancy, the pharmacy under pharmacist Miriam Oster will reopen in the old rooms on November 1st.
