The Hofapotheke Kronberg (formerly Amtsapotheke Cronberg ) is a pharmacy in Kronberg im Taunus .

history

In 1806 the first pharmacy in Kronberg was opened by the pharmacist Joh. Andreas Hille from Höchst as a branch pharmacy of the Höchst District Pharmacy due to a privilege granted by Duke Friedrich August . The pharmacy was initially in the Geisel house on the corner of Doppesstrasse and Schloßstrasse. His widow Barbara Hille sold the pharmacy in 1809 to the pharmacist Christian Neubronner from Usingen . This transformed the pharmacy from a branch pharmacy into an independent pharmacy. According to the medical edict of 1818, Christian Neubronner was appointed official pharmacist for the Königstein office. The pharmacy thus had a monopoly for the entire Königstein office. The official pharmacy was usually located at the official location. An exception was made for Kronberg.

In 1844 his son Wilhelm Neubronner succeeded him as the official pharmacist. In 1844 he moved to his own house at Doppesstrasse 4. In 1847 he opened a branch pharmacy in Oberursel (the Alte Apotheke Oberursel ), which became independent in 1872. In 1848 the Burg-Apotheke Eppstein was added as a further branch pharmacy. Wilhelm Neubronner was also known as a member of parliament.

In 1866, Wilhelm's son Julius Neubronner (1852–1932) took over the pharmacy. The Duchy of Nassau was annexed by Prussia that year . Empress Friedrich , who had taken her widow's seat in Kronberg, appointed Julius Neubronner to be court pharmacist. Since then, the local pharmacy has been called Hof-Apotheke . Julius Neubronner moved the pharmacy's headquarters to the former Streitkirche and opened the new rooms on August 17, 1891.

Since 1870 Julius Neubronner had tried to get a permit for a branch pharmacy in Königstein. On June 14, 1897, he received a license, and the pharmacy (today's "Old Pharmacy") was opened on August 1, 1897 in the premises of the current Millennium bookshop. By decree of February 11, 1905, the Königsteiner Apotheke became a full pharmacy.

The pharmacy stayed in the family. The new pharmacist was Wilhelm Neubronner, who ran the pharmacy from 1932 to 1972. He was followed by Kurt-Heinz Neubronner from 1972 to 1995. Thomas Weeber has been the owner since 2006.
