Old wine press in Eichelberg

The Alte Kelter in Eichelberg , a district of the municipality of Obersulm in the district of Heilbronn in northern Baden-Württemberg , is one of the largest buildings in the village with a length of 59 meters. The wine was in 1738 at Hundsberg built and later expanded there several times and in 1924 to its present location translocated .

history

Due to the historical affiliation to Weiler and the press tree rights of the Lords of Weiler , the wine and fruit growers from Eichelberg had to use the wine press in the nearby hamlet until the 18th century. In 1738 the gentlemen of Weiler built another small wine press on the Hundsberg , which was called the Hunsberg wine press because of its location . A coat of arms stone names the year of construction and the builders FVW and LVW with their coat of arms, i.e. H. (Johann) Friedrich von Weiler (1685–1743), second marriage to Christina von Berlichingen, and Ludwig von Weiler. In the future, the Eichelbergers could choose between one of the two Weiler presses and consequently preferred the Hunsberg press .

Even after the media coverage of the imperial knights in 1806 and the separation Eichelberg of Weiler 1830 Kelterbaum law of the Lords of the hamlet for farmers Eichelberg persisted. The wish of the municipality of Eichelberg for an improvement of the wine press conditions is documented in writing for 1836, whereby at that time both the extension of the existing wine press as well as its demolition and the construction of a further wine press near Eichelberg were proposed. For the time being, however, it remained at the old location, and the Hunsberg wine press was expanded in 1838 and again in 1839/40.

Through the tithe replacement contract of 1857, the wine press came into the possession of the municipality of Eichelberg. 1924, the building was finally to its current location translocated .

Today the wine press is used as a village community room.
