The Old Church of St-André (French: Ancienne Église Saint-André) is the former Roman Catholic parish church and today's cemetery chapel of Meistratzheim ( Département Bas-Rhin ) in France . The church has been classified as a Monument historique since 1924 .

history

The old parish church of St-André dates back to the 11th century. The basement of the tower, the square choir and a tympanum from the second half of the 12th century have been preserved from the simple Romanesque church . The church received a new nave between 1720 and 1722 and the tower was extended in 1724. After the larger new parish church of St-André was consecrated in 1922, the old church was partially demolished and the remains that have been preserved today were turned into a cemetery chapel.
