Old Mill

The Alte Mühle am Kehlenbach in Heilbronn 's Kirchhausen district is a water wheel drive grinding mill from the 18th century. It was Kirchhausen's only mill until the 19th century. The listed building is considered a cultural monument .

location

The building was once in a secluded location southeast outside the village in the Mühlwiesen am Kehlenbach, which drove the water wheel. The mill could be reached via the Mühlweg branching off from Schlossstrasse. A part of it is still preserved with today's old Mühlweg , the remaining path conditions have changed. The northern Mühlwiesen have now been built over with the outdoor swimming pool, while the southern Mühlwiesen have tennis courts. Immediately south of the mill, where the B 39 crosses the Kehlenbachgrund today , there was a new bridge over the road to Frankenbach as early as the 19th century . Today the Mühlenberg industrial park connects to the east .

description

There was a mill in Kirchhausen as early as 1374/1376 and was mentioned again in 1555. Traces of previous buildings were found in the ground. The building is a two-story construction with a half-timbered building as the upper floor, which is plastered. The timber-framed upper floor rests on a broad, brick-built ground floor. The building closes with a half-hip roof at the top.
