Old forge (Serkowitz)

The Alte Schmiede is located in the village center of the Serkowitz district of the Saxon city of Radebeul , diagonally across from the Serkowitz Inn at Kötzschenbrodaer Straße 50.

The current residential building, which is under monument protection , is a two-storey, “stately farmhouse ” that faces the street on the eaves. The Straße des Friedens branches off to the right in front of him, and the Mühlgraben runs to the left.

The ground floor is solid, the upper floor and the gables are made of half-timbered houses . As "remarkable [is] the widely visible hipped roof," which was formerly tiled . The structure is three plus one window axes in the longitudinal direction, the side view is three-axis.

The two outer of the three window axes in the main view are arched on the ground floor, each with a keystone . One bears the date 1814 and a horseshoe, the other shows the initials CGK and the house number No.50 , with the number 50 being added as a later, new house number.
