The old school is a listed building in Cratzenbach , a district of Weilrod im Hintertaunus with the address Hauptstraße 6.

The school building was built in 1861. The elementary school Cratzenbach used the house until 1962. Starting this year, visit the Cratzenbacher student neighboring schools, especially the center primary school "on the Senner" in Rod an der Weil and the Max Ernst School in Riedelbach and schools in Usingen as the Christian -Wirth School .

After the school ended, the community sold the house to the Wendel family, who used it as a weekend home. In 1983 the American Norman Ayres bought the house and ran a wine bar in it. But business was bad. In 1992, the mayor of Mühlheim am Main , Karl-Christian Schelzke, acquired co-ownership of the house, but did not use it himself. In 1995, the current owners, Matthias and Sybille Sode, bought the building and renovated it in accordance with the requirements of the monument protection authorities. It is used as a residential building and for the owners' party service.

The building is a half-timbered construction and, together with the old town hall standing next to it, shapes the image of the village. The two-story house is crowned by a clock tower. The clock is functional but mostly switched off due to noise reasons.
