The age department is the department within an organization in which voluntary members for reasons of age or health find their place after their active service.

The age or honorary department (also age or honorary team ) is a department within the volunteer fire brigade .
This department is named differently depending on the state , e.g. B .:

  • In Hesse it is called the Honorary and Age Department according to Section 10 of the Hessian Fire and Disaster Protection Act .

The requirements for admission to this group as well as the rights and obligations are described in the respective statutes of the fire brigade and differ from municipality to municipality. Austria

In Austria , fire brigade members who have passed the age of 65 must be transferred from active duty to the so-called reserve or reserve status.
