Device maintenance
The serviceman of the firefighters is the proper maintenance , entrusted, repair and storage of equipment used by the fire brigade. The only exception is breathing apparatus for which the breathing apparatus attendant is responsible. The assignment is determined by the head of the fire brigade or by the local fire brigade agency. A clear definition of the area of activity is also necessary.
The tasks of the equipment maintenance are in the D GUV regulation 49 accident prevention regulation fire brigades, DIN 14420 fire-fighting centrifugal pump , DIN EN 1028-1 and 1028-2 fire-fighting centrifugal pump with venting device, operating and manufacturer instructions, GUV 305-002 (test principles for equipment and devices of the fire brigade) and GUV-I 5190 (recurring tests on portable electrical equipment).
The training to become an equipment manager at the fire brigade in Germany lasts at least 35 hours of instruction. The fire brigade service provision 2 writes the qualifications as an admission requirement squad leader and a machinist before. Equipment maintenance training takes place u. a. at the institute of the fire brigade , at the state fire brigade schools and at the manufacturers of the equipment used by the fire brigade.
This course, or a shortened, subject-specific course to acquire the necessary specialist knowledge, together with the qualification as a group leader, is an admission requirement for the course instructor for machinists .
