The old rectory or old parish is a listed rectory in the town of Möckern in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the old town of Möckern at the address Kirchstraße 22 southeast of the Protestant St. Laurentius Church .

Architecture and history

The two-storey building, built in 1666, is a half-timbered construction. The previous building was destroyed in a fire in 1644. The building is covered with a hipped roof . The building was used as a parsonage until 1925, then as a residential building for the community nurse until 1995. The building was connected to the water supply in 1984 and in 1988 the stairs were renewed and a bathing room was built in. The parsonage complex also included a brewery, a community hall, a floor for flax production, a grain floor and a dovecote. A special structural feature is an indoor toilet with a baby toilet. The complex is surrounded by a field stone wall. Part of the field stone wall belongs to the city ​​wall of Möckern. The house was empty until 2017 and needed renovation. Since the beginning of 2018, it has been gradually refurbished to accommodate club and exhibition rooms.

In the local register of monuments , the rectory is listed as a monument under registration number 094 71082 .

It is considered the oldest building in Möckern.
