formation

In 1793, under Friedrich Wilhelm II, a Danzig dragoon squadron was established under Colonel Jakob von Zülow . The personnel was recruited from existing cavalry regiments.

According to the Supreme Cabinet Ordinance of February 16, 1802, this regiment formed the trunk of the newly established Dragoon Regiment No. 13, and the regiment was completed by taxes from all of the army's dragoon and cuirassier regiments.

Many Polish nationals deserted during the Fourth Coalition War . In 1807 the regiment only consisted of: 17 officers, 46 non-commissioned officers, 3 trumpeters, 4 surgeons, 5 flag smiths and 89 men and 159 horses.

On October 16, 1807, the regiment was used via AKO to re-form the cuirassier regiment No. 4 (vacant von Wagenfeld).

General Hans Stephan von Rouquette was the head of the regiment from 1803 until the dissolution . The then Colonel Eberhard Friedrich Fabian von Massenbach acted as commander .

Campaigns

The regiment only took part in the Fourth Coalition War, where it was used as Detachement Rouquette . All standards of the regiment were saved in 1807 and returned to the Berlin armory after the war .

It fought on November 14, 1806 between Scheidmühle and Bromberg and on November 15 at Bromberg and a division at Schulitz. Also on January 21, 1807 at Preussisch-Holland and on February 8 at Preussisch Eylau, as well as in the battle of retreat between Marienwerder and Mewe on February 11. Most recently, it took part in the defense of Gdansk from March 10th to May 24th .
