Alvar Zacke

Alvar Zacke (born January 13, 1904 in Uppsala , † January 30, 1977 in Råsunda , Solna municipality ) was a Swedish screenwriter , writer , translator and journalist .

Life

Zacke, who was a pilot himself, became known for his flight books ( Pojkarnas flygbok - German: flight book of the boys ). In the 1940s he wrote a series of portraits about daredevil pilots under the heading Flygets hjältar (German: Heroes of Aviation ). He worked for the newspaper Stockholms-Tidningen , which had its reporters transported quickly between their jobs by air, a novelty for the time. Since Zacke often took advantage of this opportunity, he published articles with the signature Wingman and he was one of the first flying reporters (Swedish flygande reporter ) in Sweden. In addition to reports , he wrote feature sections and novellas in weekly newspapers. The high point of his work was the film adaptation of the book Första divisionen (German: The first division ). The film received very positive reviews, not only for its acting performance, but also for the story. His last own work was the 1973 book Allmogebåtar , which his son Lennart Zacke regards as his life's work. He also translated a number of books for young people.

Zacke grew up south of Kalmar in Söderåkra , where he is also buried.
