Alvydas Medalinskas

Alvydas Medalinskas (born November 30, 1963 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian politician and journalist .

Life

From 1970 to 1973 he studied in Tuskulėnai . After graduating from high school from 1973 to 1981 at the 41st Middle School in Karoliniškės , he completed his diploma studies from 1981 to 1985 at the Faculty of Industrial Economics of the Vilniaus universitetas . From 1991 to 1992 he studied at London University , London School of Economics and Political Science . He completed his master’s degree (specializing in international relations ). From 1985 to 1988 he was an assistant at the Lithuanian Agricultural Institute. From 1988 he was a member of Sąjūdis . From 1993 to 1994 he was the deputy director of the Institute for Political Science at Vilniaus universitetas . From 1994 to 1996 he was a diplomat in London. From 1996 to 2003 he was a member of the Seimas and from 2003 to 2004 adviser to the Lithuanian President Rolandas Paksas . From 2008 to 2013 he was the political editor of the daily Respublika . Since 2013 he has been a TV presenter at Lietuvos ryto televizija .

He was an employee of Lietuvos televizija , the daily newspaper " Lietuvos rytas ", radio station Laisvoji Europe .

From 1990 he was a member of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija , from 1996 to 2003 of the Lietuvos liberalų sąjunga .
