Richard Alwin Körsten (born September 29, 1856 in Söhesten ; † March 10, 1924 in Berlin ) was a German trade unionist and social democratic politician.

Körsten worked until 1899 as shapers . From 1890 he was a foreman . In 1876 he joined the SPD. From 1882 he was initially an honorary functionary for the trade union and party. Among other things, he was chairman of the Former Association. In 1891, Körsten was one of the founders of the German Metalworkers' Association . Between 1893 and 1920 he served as an assessor at the industrial court in Berlin. His main job was from 1899 to 1920 as secretary and later also chairman of the trade union commission for Berlin and the surrounding area. From 1920, Körsten was head of the Greater Berlin Employment Agency.

Körsten was a member of the Reichstag from 1903 to 1907 and again from 1912 to 1918. In both legislative periods he represented the constituency administrative district Stettin 3 (Randow - Greifenhagen) as a member . He was then a member of the Weimar National Assembly and from 1920 until his death of the Reichstag of the Weimar Republic .

He is buried in the Friedrichsfelde socialist cemetery .
