Alwin Schultz

Alwin Schultz (born August 6, 1838 in Muskau ; † March 10, 1909 in Munich ) was a German art and cultural historian .

Schultz studied German and archeology in Breslau from 1858 to 1859 and 1862 to 1864. In 1864 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. From 1870 to 1873 he was temporary head of the University Library and from 1872 to 1882 he was associate professor at the local university .

From 1882 to 1903 he was a full professor of art history at the German University in Prague . Schultz moved to Munich in 1903, where he remained until his death.

Alwin Schultz had been married to Anna von Wagenhoff since 1872.

Schultz wrote articles for various art magazines and published several art history treatises.
