Américo Belloto Varoni

Américo Belloto Varoni ( Don Américo ; born April 30, 1913 in Buenos Aires ; † April 30, 1965 ibid) was an Argentine violinist and conductor.

Belloto taught at the Conservatory in his hometown and was director of Radio Nacional . From 1931 he played alternately in a chamber music ensemble and a tango orchestra. He then became first violinist of the orchestra of Radio Belgrano and in 1943 founded the studio orchestra Don Américo y sus Caribes , with which he made recordings with Marión Inclán , Eduardo Farrell , Alberto Gómez , Alfonso Ortiz Tirado , Eduardo Lanz , María de la Fuente , Arturo Gatica, among others , Aldo Nigro , Mario Visconti , Álvaro Solani , Elvira Ríos , Fernando Borel , Leo Marini , Fernando Albuerne , Mario Clavell , Fernando Torres , Gregorio Barrios , Hugo Romani and Genaro Salinas , including works by Don Fabián , Eugenio Nóbile , Héctor Lagna Fietta and Atilio Carbone . He then lived in Colombia for a few years before returning to Argentina in the early 1960s. Belloto was killed in a traffic accident on his 52nd birthday. He was married to the Colombian television presenter Teresa Gutiérrez and the father of the actor Miguel Varoni .
