The gate system at house Am Spittelteich 10 is a listed building in the town of Gernrode, part of the town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the center of Gernröder on Spittelteich and is entered in the local register of monuments.

Architecture and history

The baroque gate system was built according to a date on it in 1714 and belonged to Kestner's Freihof. It is built from rubble stones , some remains of plastering can be found. The gate passage is designed as a round arch, at the small gate there is a garment with ear flaps . A cartridge is located in the lintel, from which the remains of an inscription can be seen.

In 1975 Kestners Freihof was partially demolished and rebuilt on three floors. However, the gate system was retained.
