Amagami ( Japanese ア マ ガ ミ , eng. "Tender bite; love bite") is the title of a Ren'ai simulation , a Japanese computer game that was developed by Enterbrain and published in 2009. Based on the game, the anime television series Amagami SS ( ア マ ガ ミ SS ) was created in 2010 and the sequel Amagami SS + plus ( ア マ ガ ミ SS + plus ) as well as several adaptations as manga in 2012 .

action

Two years ago, Jun'ichi Tachibana ( 橘 純一 , Tachibana Jun'ichi ) was heartbroken when his love at the time left him on a Christmas Eve date. Since then he has shied away from dealing with girls and instead spent his free time in his small planetarium . However, he is not completely alone. His sister Miya Tachibana ( 橘 美 也 , Tachibana Miya ) is at his side, although she calls her brother Nii-nii and reveals a strong feeling of jealousy in the presence of other girls. At school, Jun'ichi joins his friends Kaoru Tanamachi ( 棚 町 薫 , Tanamachi Kaoru ) and Masayoshi Umehara ( 梅 原 正 吉 , Umehara Masayoshi ). Nevertheless, there is an opportunity for him to make friends with certain girls at school. Over time, romantic love relationships develop from this, which are shaped by the respective character of the girl.

Amagami SS

The anime Amagami SS was divided into shorter, several episodes comprehensive chapters, each beginning with the same premise, but then developing differently and accompanying the development of the relationship between Jun'ichi and one of the students.

In the first, four-episode chapter, Jun'ichi meets the female school idol Haruka Morishima ( 森 島 は る か , Morishima Haruka ) and a provocative relationship develops in which Haruka initially declines his offer to go on a date. Nevertheless, both meet repeatedly, which causes Jun'ichi to grow beyond his own limits in order to convince Haruka of himself despite her completely different idea of a partner. He finally succeeds in this on Christmas Eve, when Haruka invites him to the meeting of her family, at which, however, all guests stay away.

From the fifth episode onwards, the anime's plot starts all over again, but this time goes into more detail about his classmate Kaoru Tanamachi, whom he has known for a long time. Although he has been with her for so long and she has various jokes with him, they are never aware of their love for each other until the moment when Kaoru accidentally meets Jun'ichi in one fell swoop. She takes him to the infirmary and falls in love with him, unaware of her feelings. On the way home she tells him about working in a pub. When Jun'ichi does not miss the opportunity to see her in her uniform, both notice that they have developed feelings, but neither of them want to admit it. Nevertheless, they both manage to gradually break down their inhibitions and so they can confess their love to each other on Christmas Eve.

The third chapter begins with the ninth episode and changes the narrative perspective a little. A speaker introduces the events and comments on them, while Jun'ichi meets Sae Nakata ( 中 多 紗 江 , Nakata Sae ), who is a year younger . Sae, a classmate of his younger sister, is extremely scared and doesn't even dare to raise her voice, which is why she speaks very softly. So she is denied the desire to work at Kaoru in the café, as she would not be able to take the orders. Aware of this situation, he offers her to prepare her for the job interview and to reduce her fear. Both get closer and closer, whereby Jun'ichi can especially enjoy the physical contact and finally both find each other when Sae tries to continue the relationship, even after she had achieved her goal with the attitude.

Returning to the initial narrative structure, Jun'ichi meets Ai Nanasaki ( 七 咲 逢 , Nanasaki Ai ) in the fourth section , who, like Sae, is a classmate of his younger sister. However, she leaves a very dogged impression at their first meeting and even describes him as a pervert. Impressed by it in his own way, he tries to find out more about her. He finds out that Ai is a member of the school's swimming club and has great ambitions. At the same time, Jun'ichi is discovered by Ai and they both manage to get into conversation. Ai turns out to be less dogged than he would have expected. On the contrary, she is very worried about her young brother because she can no longer get close to him. At the same time she reminds Jun'ichi of a small child through his behavior, which is why she asks him for advice about her brother. In the process, she learns to understand both her brother and him better and steers fairly directly towards a relationship. This changes suddenly when she learns that she will not be sent to the competitions because her results have not increased due to the many distractions. But here, too, Jun'ichi is there and gives her support, which lets him see for himself that he feels something for Ai. On Christmas Eve, Ai leads him to a remote hot spring that only she knows and finally the two confess their love for each other.

In the fifth section, the story is told from the perspective of the slightly overweight Rihoko Sakurai ( 桜 井 梨 穂 子 , Sakurai Rihoko ), who has been in love with Jun'ichi for a long time. However, their love was never returned by him. When she overslept at the beginning, forgets something and threatens to be late for school, she tries to take a shortcut through a hole in a fence at the back. However, she gets stuck trying, but Jun'ichi comes to her aid. From this moment on she realizes that sooner or later she should go through one of her many aborted diets, which she doesn't seem to succeed because she just can't bring herself to stop eating. Jun'ichi supports Rihoko again and again, whether diet or the tea club she is a member of. Compared to the other arcs, however, this one does not end on Christmas Eve, but at the school festival in summer. Jun'ichi is now also a member of the tea club and helps Rihoko with the preparations. Here she vows to herself that at some point she will confess her love to him. This arc is the first in which there is no romantic ending, but rather the developments are left relatively open.

The sixth section is about his relationship with the class representative and committee chairman Tsukasa Ayatsuji ( 絢 辻 詞 , Ayatsuji Tsukasa ). One day after school he comes into his classroom and sees Tsukasa's notebook and learns that she has a split personality. When the two of them talk about it the next day, Tsukasa is very angry at first, but they start to meet. He also helps her with her duties as committee chairman, which makes her feel for Jun'ichi. He realizes that he also has feelings for her and then wants to confess his love to her. On Christmas Eve at the cultural festival, they confess their love under the Christmas tree.

The seventh arc is just a single episode. This is about Risa Kamizaki ( 上 崎 裡 沙 , Kamizaki Risa ) who has been in love with Jun'ichi for 2 years. She asks him to go out with her. He agrees and they always meet secretly in a closet because she doesn't want anyone to know about their relationship. Risa had told the other girls he already had a girlfriend and showed them an edited photo. After a while he meets the girl who dumped him 2 years ago. Then he learns that someone told her that he was waiting for her at the cinema. This girl was Risa, which she told him the following day and she also confesses that she has manipulated the other's relationship. She tries to break up with him, but Jun'ichi forgives her and says that it is okay because he would love her. Risa then apologized to the other girls later.
