Kana Asumi

Kana Asumi ( Japanese 阿 澄 佳 奈 , Asumi Kana ; born August 12, 1983 in Fukuoka Prefecture ), actually Kana Harada ( 原田 佳 奈 ), is a Japanese voice actress ( seiyū ).

Life

Kana Asumi comes from Fukuoka Prefecture and had her first contact with the entertainment industry in 1999 as a member of the regional idol group Koume Five ( 小梅伍（フ ァ イ ブ）, Koume Faibu ). After school she studied at a short college and acquired a license as a kindergarten teacher and a qualification as a nanny.

In February 2005 she auditioned for a role in the computer game Cross World - Mishiranu Sora no Ether by Broccoli , where she won one of the leading female roles alongside Yuka Iguchi and Ai Tokunaga . In May of the same year she became a member of the voice actor group Gamers Guardian Fairies (GGF), which was affiliated with the Broccoli-owned Gamers store. Since the game was released in October 2005, her debut role was therefore as a waitress in the anime Canvas 2 - Niji-iro no Sketch . On March 18, 2006, the group gave their farewell concert.

On April 1, 2006, she was signed by the Voice & Heart agency . After they withdrew from the voice actor management in 2008, Asumi went to the agency 81 Produce with effect from January 7th.

Her breakthrough as a voice actress came in 2007 with the lead roles of Ran in Shugo Chara! and the Yuno in Hidamari Sketch . For the latter role and that of Natsumi in Kyō no 5 no 2 in the following year, she was honored at the 3rd Seiyū Awards 2009 alongside Haruka Tomatsu as the best young speaker.

Together with Azusa Kataoka and Sayuri Hara she was a member of the voice actor group LISP , which was active from July 2010 to July 2011 and released three download singles, two CD singles and one album.
