Amalie Froehlich

Amalie Froehlich (born July 11, 1876 in Wolfhagen ; † 1938 ) was a German national liberal politician and a member of the DVP state parliament .

In 1906 Amalie Froehlich became a teacher at the municipal girls' elementary school in Hanau . After women were admitted to study in Prussia in 1908 , she took leave of school and studied at the universities of Bonn , Oxford and Cambridge . Nothing is known about an activity in the women's movement or in the general German teachers' association (ADLV) .

In 1921 Froehlich became a member of the first Prussian state parliament . During this time she was a teacher in Höchst am Main . In 1924, like many other candidates, she was at the bottom of the list and narrowly missed entry into the state parliament in 1924–1928. From 1924 she taught English, German and history at the Elisabeth School in Marburg until she was transferred to Kassel as a student teacher in 1936.
