Amasichos

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Amasichos ( Greek  Ἀμάσιχος ) is a person of Greek mythology .

According to a Scholion to Homer's Odyssey , he is the son of Ikarios and Asterodeia , his brothers are named Phalereus , Thoon , Pheremmelias and Perilaos , his sisters are Mede and Penelope , who later became the wife of Odysseus .

Since the name Imeusimos can be found in the library of Apollodorus for one of the brothers of Penelope, it was assumed that the name forms Imeusimos and Amasichos are prescriptions of the name Amasiklos , which can be found in another part of the Scholion.
