Amber Eye is a short documentary film made by Norwegian director Lars Rasmussen in 2001.

action

In his film Rasmussen explores the question of the goal of searching. After a storm, people search for amber on the beach on the Danish island of Fanø , while seagulls and stray dogs circling overhead look for food. In his portrayal, Rasmussen completely dispenses with dialogue. The film closes with a quote from Francis of Assisi : “What we all search for is the searcher” (German: What we are all looking for is the seeker ).

The film was produced in-house, Rasmussen is also responsible for the camera and editing. It is accompanied by electronic music by Knut Bøhn.

In 2002 he was in the international competition of the Doclisboa film festival .
