Christos Voudouris

Christos Voudouris (* in Paris ) is a Greek cameraman who was born in France and who has overseen various international cinema productions, including films such as Alpen , Before Midnight and Love Goes Strange Paths .

life and career

Christos Voudouris, born in Paris to Greek parents, first began his career as a photographer in France. He finally moved to Greece in 1977. In 1986 he graduated as a cameraman from the Hellenic Cinema and Television School Stavrakos (HCTSS), founded in Athens in 1950 . At that time he was working as a camera assistant for the cameraman and director Giorgos Panousopoulos. In addition to his work as a camera assistant, he was responsible for various short films such as Mia fora stis toses (1985), Kyriaki (1986) and the short documentary Thirasia (1988).

Since 1990 Christos Voudouris has worked internationally for more than 800 commercials. In 1994 he began his career as a cameraman for cinema productions. In 1994, 1995 and 1996 he was in charge of the Greek films Terra incognita , Iniohos and Lysippos epoiisen by the directors Yiannis Typaldos, Alexis Damianos and Nikos Franghias. From 1996 he worked mainly in Europe and the United States .

In 2011 he was hired by the Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos for his award-winning film drama Alps . In 2013 he shot the Oscar- nominated romantic drama Before Midnight for Richard Linklater, starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy . In 2014, he finally worked as a cameraman for Ira Sachs' cinema production Love goes strange ways with John Lithgow , Alfred Molina and Marisa Tomei in the leading roles. In 2016 he was behind the camera for director Joshua Marston's mystery drama Complete Unknown You Are Who You Pretend To be with Erin Darke, Rachel Weisz and Hansel Tan.
