The Ambergris Glacier is a glacier in Graham Land, West Antarctica . It flows in a south-southeast direction to the Flask Glacier , which it reaches immediately west of the Fluke Ridge on the Oskar II coast . Its eastern flank is determined by a striking discordance .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named numerous geographic features in the area after things related to whales . Namesake of this glacier is the Ambra ( English ambergris ), a waxy substance from the digestive tract of sperm whales , which in earlier times for the perfume industry was used.
