Ambrogio Casati

Ambrogio Casati (born December 27, 1897 in Voghera , Italy , † July 19, 1977 ibid (according to other information: Pavia )) was an Italian futuristic painter and sculptor .

Life

Casati studied sculpture in Paris . Upon returning to Italy, he joined Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and the futurist movement that was gaining prominence in the Italian art scene. His best known works are The Dance of the Chairs (1931) and Portrait of Marinetti (1927).

Casati was also the mentor of computer art pioneer Aldo Giorgini .
