Ambrosius Becht

Ambrosius Becht (* 1514 in Esslingen , † 1564 in Heilbronn ) was first judge and later mayor of Heilbronn from 1547 to 1564 .

Becht is mentioned in 1545 as a citizen of the city of Heilbronn. He was judge from 1547 and mayor of the city from 1557 to 1564. Together with Wolf Berlin and Gregorius Kugler , he appeared as a member of the city of Heilbronn in 1548 at the “armored” Reichstag in Augsburg . He was the owner of the patrician court in Klostergasse and married Margerete Lyher. Her son Georg Becht became mayor himself in 1606.

The Bechts originally come from Reutlingen and have been recorded in Heilbronn since 1545. Your coat of arms depicts a silver swan against a red background.
