Georg Becht (* 1548 in Heilbronn ; † December 19, 1606 in Heilbronn) was Mayor of Heilbronn from January 21, 1606 until his death .

Life

The Bechts are originally from Reutlingen and have been occupied with Georg's father Ambrosius Becht in Heilbronn since 1545. Your coat of arms represents a silver swan against a red background. Georg Becht was a student at the universities of Heidelberg , Leipzig and Wittenberg from 1567 to 1569 . From 1576 to 1578, he fought alongside Count Palatine Johann Kasimir against France for two years. Becht belonged to the court in Heilbronn in 1581 and to the small council in 1585, was tax master in 1589 , mayor in 1603 and mayor in 1606. In addition, from 1603 he was also Vogt in Flein .

Georg Becht married Barbara Kugler, daughter of the syndic and town clerk Gregorius Kugler and granddaughter of the painter Jerg Kugler , and had five children with her: Barbara, Ambrosius, Johann Georg, Gregor and Friedrich.
