The house Ambrose Place 2 is a Grade II listed house in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located on the northern corner of Ambrosiusplatz in Magdeburg's Sudenburg district .

Architecture and history

The four-storey building was built in 1895 for the merchant Knape. The representative plastered house, designed in the neo-baroque style, is built as a three-wing complex. To the south towards Ambrosiusplatz, the building forms a so-called courtyard of honor with the middle wing that recedes behind the side wings. In the middle wing there is a middle risalit to this court of honor .

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 81 916 .

The building is seen as defining the Ambrosiusplatz and is therefore significant in terms of urban planning.
