Ambwene Simukonda

Ambwene Simukonda (born March 23, 1984 in Blantyre , Malawi ) is a Malawian athlete.

life and career

Simukonda represented her country at the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu and the Olympic Games in London 2012 in the 400 m run, but was eliminated both times in the preliminary run. In London, however, she set a new Malawian record with 54.20 seconds.

Simukonda studied law at the University of Sheffield from 2005 and worked as a paralegal in 2012. She trains at the London athletics club Thames Valley Harriers .
