The Amery Basin is a large, approximately 900 m deep lake basin in the middle of Prydz Bay off the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land .

The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1988 based on the name of the Amery Ice Shelf . Both objects are named after William Bankes Amery (1883–1951), representative of the United Kingdom for immigration to Australia between 1925 and 1929. In Russia it is known as Kotlowina Lednikowaja ( Russian Котловина Ледниковая , literally translated as glacial basin ).
