Amichai Shalev ( Hebrew עמיחי שלו; born 1973 in Israel ) is an Israeli writer.

Life

Amichai Shalev studied history and literature at Tel Aviv University and scenic writing at the Camera Obscura School of Art, also in Tel Aviv . He worked as a literary critic for the news site Ynet , for the newspapers Haaretz and Maariw . He works as a lecturer at the publishing house “Am Oved” and teaches creative writing at various Israeli universities.

Shalev has published several novels. The novel The Mentals was nominated for the Sapir Prize in 2010. In 2012, Shalev received the Israeli Prime Minister's Prize for Poets and Writers for his literary work. He lives in Herzliya .
