Amirul Haque Amin

Amirul Haque Amin (born April 1, 1961 ) is president and co-founder of the National Garments Workers Federation (NGWF - National Union of Textile Workers), the largest union in Bangladesh .

Life

Amin has been campaigning for the rights of workers in the textile industry since the 1980s. His interest in helping them organize in trade unions to improve social conditions in Bangladesh began when he was a student at the University of Dhaka . On September 27, 2015, he was awarded the Nuremberg International Human Rights Prize.
