Ammann und Baumann was an architecture firm in Zug that was able to realize many large buildings, especially in Central Switzerland, between the 1960s and 1990s. Also known to the public is the only new construction of a major train station in Switzerland, the Lucerne train station, which burned down in 1971 .

Professional biography

Hans-Peter Ammann (born January 1, 1933 in Basel ) studied architecture at the ETH Zurich from 1951 to 1957 and then worked in Zug and then in 1960/61 in São Paulo , before leaving South America for winning the competition for the Reformed Church in Walchwil was able to open its own office in Zug.

Peter Baumann (born March 4, 1938 in Sursee ) worked after graduating from ETH Zurich in 1962, initially in Sweden and Switzerland, until in 1965 he founded the office community with Ammann with offices in Zug and Lucerne. In 2006 he was awarded the Art and Culture Prize of the City of Lucerne .

The two offices carried out the execution planning of the orders separately and from 1980 also worked on the drafts independently. In 1996 the office community was dissolved.
