The Nurse River ( Estonian Nurse jõgi ) is a 59 km long river in Estonia .
Its catchment area covers 501 km². The river covers a gradient of 51.6 m. The tributaries are Kõla oja, Nava oja, Kirjasoo peakraav, Vara oja, Preedi oja, Lubja oja, Vedu peakraav, Kõrveküla kraav and Mudajõgi . At the Amme river flows u. a. through the village of Palamuse .
The Nurse River has its source in Lake Kuremaa ( Kuremaa järv ). It flows into the Emajõgi (German Embach ). Near the mouth of which was located until its destruction in 1558 Cistercian - Kärkna Abbey , the largest moated castle on the territory of present-day Estonia.
