The Ammo Col is a small mountain saddle on the Adelaide Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It connects the middle with the southeast section of the Reptile Ridge on the Wright Peninsula .
Aerial photographs were taken between 1956 and 1957 during the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition . Scientists from the British Antarctic Survey on the Rothera station named the saddle so because they here ammunition ( English ammunition , commonly known as ammo ) offshore. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee accepted this designation in 2004.
