Amnesia (Dos almas en una) is a Mexican film by the director Ernesto Vollrath from 1921. The silent film belongs to the melodrama genre. The script is based on a work of the same name by Amado Nervo .

content

The story is told by Pablo, who marries Luisa. She distracts him from his duties with her dissolute lifestyle. Luisa has a child and shortly afterwards suffers from amnesia . Pablo takes advantage of this situation by transforming his wife into a docile and lovable person whom he now calls Blanca. A doctor advises Pablo to send his wife to a cure, but Pablo refuses.

The couple's new happy life ends suddenly with Luisa's death.

Assignment

The Filmoteca de la UNAM has two copies of the film, one from 1921 and one from 1922. Most publications assign the film to the year 1921, however.
