The Cuers rampage took place on September 23 and 24, 1995 in the two French municipalities of Solliès-Pont and Cuers , in the Var department . The 16-year-old student Eric Borel (born December 11, 1978 in Pau , † September 24, 1995 in Cuers) murdered 15 people before he killed himself.

Eric Borel was born on December 11, 1978 to Marie Parenti and Jacky Borel in the French city of Pau. After his parents separated, he lived with his father's parents in Limoges until he was 5 years old . After his mother had married Yves Bichet , Eric took her to their house in Solliès-Pont.

On September 23, 1995, at around 6 p.m., Borel killed his stepfather with a small bore rifle in the kitchen of the house and slew his half-brother. Approx. two hours later he shot his mother returning home. Borel is said to have removed the bodies and cleaned the house after the death of his stepfather and half-brother and then again after the mother was killed. Then he took the rifle and a pistol and drove a car towards Cuers. After a traffic accident caused by him, he continued on foot.

After spending the night outdoors, Borel met his best friend, who lived in Cuers, around 7:15 in the morning, whom he shot after a long discussion. From now on Borel would shoot anything that moved. Seven men and four women between the ages of 15 and 77 were killed and four others injured.

When the police arrived, about 45 minutes after firing his first shot that day, Borel shot himself in the head.
