The amphiboles peak is a mountain peak in the Antarctic Ross Dependency and 1660 m , the highest elevation of the gabbro Hills . It rises in the Queen Maud Mountains 6.5 km north of Mount Llano .
The southern group of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1963-1964) named it so because minerals from the amphibole group can be found here.
