Ernst Christian Albert von Tresckow

Ernst Christian Albert von Tresckow (born December 8, 1760 in Magdeburg , † February 7, 1831 in Königsberg ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and inspector of the Landwehr in the government department of Königsberg.

Life

origin

His parents were Johann Christoph von Treschkow (1719–1780) and his wife Maria Sabine, née Gallau (Galloni) (1723–1810). His father was heir to Schlagenthin and Klein-Wusterwitz as well as a Prussian lieutenant a. D.

Military career

Tresckow came to Berlin as a cadet on April 21, 1775 and switched to the Academie Militaire on April 12, 1776 . On June 14, 1782, he was employed as an ensign in the "von Lengefeld" infantry regiment of the Prussian Army and promoted there on December 28, 1785 to secondary lieutenant. In the campaign in Poland he fought in 1794 in combat near Warsaw and Rawka . During this time he came on April 12, 1794 as adjutant general to lieutenant general von Schwerin . On September 3, 1794 he received the order Pour le Mérite . On November 13, 1794 he was then adjutant to Lieutenant General von Günther .

On July 8, 1795 Tresckow was inspection adjutant of the West Prussian infantry inspection of General Larisch . As early as August 16, 1795, he became staff captain and on February 2, 1799, captain . On June 8, 1802 he was promoted to major and on October 12, 1802 Tresckow came as a company commander in the infantry regiment "von Larisch" . In the Fourth Coalition War he was wounded in a battle near Halle. As a result of the defeat of Prussia, Tresckow was initially set at half salary in 1807 before he came to the fortress of Pillau as a commander on November 23, 1808 . For this he received a salary of 1,800 thalers, from which a third was deducted. On February 4, 1811 he became a lieutenant colonel with a patent on February 8, 1811.

With the beginning of the Wars of Liberation he became a colonel on June 4, 1813 and major general on June 19, 1814 during the war . After the war he was transferred to Thorn as a commandant on March 31, 1815 , but on April 29, 1815 he became chief of the general staff of Lieutenant General Stutterheim . On November 23, 1815, he was also inspector of the Landwehr in the government department of Königsberg in Prussia. For this he received the Order of the Red Eagle III on October 23, 1816 . Class. On February 22, 1820, he was eliminated with a half-pay 1500 thalers from the army and on 29 December 1825 he was awarded the character as a lieutenant general and 1,500 dollars Pension retired.

For his 50th anniversary in service, he received the service cross on January 15, 1826 . He died on February 7, 1831 in Königsberg and was buried on February 14, 1831 in the Altroßgartenschen cemetery .

Tresckow married on October 15, 1797 on Zinten Charlotte Konstantina Friederike von Sydow (1773-1853), widowed Domhardt. The couple had several children:
