The Gabbro Hills are a series of rugged mountain ridges on the Dufek Coast in Antarctica's Ross Dependency . They extend in the Queen Maud Mountains along the Ross Ice Shelf between the confluences of the Barrett and Gough glaciers . To the south they extend to the Ropebrake Pass .
The southern group of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1963-1964) named them after the Plutonic magma rock gabbro , which is predominant here.
