The Proton Inspira is a sedan built from 2010 to 2015 by the Malay car manufacturer Proton . The Inspira was the successor to the Proton Waja . The vehicle was identical to the eighth generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer , but in contrast to this, it was only sold in Malaysia and was priced below that of the Lancer.

The sedan was powered by a 1.8 or 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrol engine. While the smaller engine was available with a manual transmission , the larger one was sold with a continuously variable transmission .
