Amphimedon (son of Melaneus)
Amphimedon ( ancient Greek Ἀμφιμέδων ) is a person from Greek mythology .
He is a son of Melaneus from Ithaca , with whom Agamemnon is staying in the Odyssey as a guest when he tries to get Odysseus to take part in the Trojan War . When Odysseus returns, Amphimedon is one of Penelope's numerous suitors and is slain in battle by Odysseus' son Telemachus .
