The collar anemonefish ( Amphiprion perideraion ) lives in the coral reefs of Southeast Asia , New Guinea , Melanesia , Micronesia , from the coast of northern Australia to the Ryūkyū Islands . It lives near Bali with the closely related white-backed anemonefish ( Amphiprion akallopisos ) and has already been found in the same anemone as this one.

The body of the fish is orange. A narrow, white horizontal stripe runs over the head in front of the gill cover . A white longitudinal stripe begins at the snout and runs along the base of the white dorsal fin to the caudal peduncle. The caudal fin is also white. The remaining fins are transparent. The dorsal fin has nine to ten hard and 16 to 17 soft rays, the anal fin has two hard and 12 to 13 soft rays. Amphiprion perideraion becomes up to 10 centimeters long. It was bred in the aquarium.

The fish accept four symbiotic anemone species as partners.
