Amphoe Samko ( Thai อำเภอ สามโก้ ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) in the western part of Ang Thong Province . Ang Thong Province is located in the middle of the central region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Pho Thong and Wiset Chai Chan in the province of Ang Thong and Amphoe Si Prachan the province of Suphan Buri .

history

Samko was already mentioned in the Royal Chronicles of Ayutthaya . Burmese troops set up camp here before attacking the capital Ayutthaya.

The Samko County was separated from the Wiset Chai Chan district in 1962 and thus became a “branch district” ( King Amphoe ) . In 1965 he got full amphoe status.

There is one municipality with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

Samko (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สามโก้ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Samko, Ratsadon Phatthana, Mongkhon Tham Nimit.

There are also two " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

Op Thom (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล อบ ทม ) consisting of the complete Tambon Op Thom.
Pho Muang Phan (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล โพธิ์ ม่วง พันธ์ ) consisting of the complete tambon Pho Muang Phan.
