Amram ben Scheschna

Amram ben Scheschna ( Amram Gaon ; † around 880 ) had been the Gaon of Surah since around 860 as the successor to Natronai II.

He was the author of numerous responses .

The oldest known Jewish prayer book ( Seder Raw Amram , large liturgical collection including prayer and ritual regulations) comes from him , which is at the same time his most important and his main work (first edition Warsaw 1865).
