The Amsterdam Admirals were a Dutch American football - team , that of 1995 bis 2007 in the NFL Europe played. Home stadium was the Amsterdam Arena . In the 2007 season, the team returned to the Amsterdam Olympic Stadium for a game that the Admirals had played for one season in 1995 before moving to the Amsterdam ArenA.
For the first time since the league's start-up season in 1995, Amsterdam reached the World Bowl finals on June 11, 2005 . In contrast to the game against Frankfurt Galaxy at the time , Amsterdam won the final against Berlin Thunder in the LTU arena in Düsseldorf this time . In 2006 the Admirals reached the World Bowl again, but lost clearly against Frankfurt Galaxy with 7:22.
