The Amt Aschendorf was a historical administrative area of ​​the Kingdom of Hanover and the Prussian Province of Hanover . The superordinate administrative authority was the Landdrostei Osnabrück .

The office was established in 1827 as one of the four Herzoglich Arenbergische media offices and at that time included the parishes of Aschendorf , Dörpen , Heede , Rhede , Lathen and Steinbild . In 1867 it was incorporated into the Prussian tax and military district of Meppen. Since the introduction of the district constitution in 1885, it formed the district of Aschendorf with the city of Papenburg .

The seat of the bailiff was the Amtshaus Nienhaus in Aschendorf.
